Privacy Policy

How Southledger collects, uses, stores and shares information. The same policy applies on south-ledger.com and south-ledgers.com.

Effective date: 23 October 2026
Company: Southledger

1. Introduction

Southledger ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you access our websites and cryptocurrency exchange services. The same policy applies on both websites.

2. Information we collect

We may collect technical information, IP addresses, cookies, public wallet addresses, blockchain transaction data, and information you voluntarily provide through communications or support requests.

Creating an account uses an email address and a password. The password is stored only as a hash. If you add a card, we keep the name, brand, expiry and last digits. We do not store a full card number or card security code.

Users may voluntarily share information with us by contacting our support team, submitting inquiries, providing feedback, or communicating through our official channels. We use this information to respond to requests, provide assistance, and improve our services.

Buying, selling, swapping and withdrawing require an identity check first. Where that applies, you submit identity verification information (KYC) in your account. The information requested depends on the verification step. It can include your name, date of birth, address, a photo of your identity document, a photo of you with that document, a bank statement and a source-of-wealth document.

Never share your wallet's private keys, recovery phrase, or wallet passwords with us. These credentials are not required for identity verification. Your 12-word recovery phrase is created in your browser and checked there. We store only a public key derived from it.

3. How we use information

We use information to operate and improve our platform, facilitate supported transactions, provide customer support, maintain security, prevent fraud, process identity verification where it is required, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information for money. We may share information with service providers or authorities where necessary and lawful.

4. Keys and account balances

Southledger accounts hold the assets shown in your portfolio. Buys, sells and swaps are recorded on your account.

We do not request users' private keys or recovery phrases. You are responsible for protecting those credentials, reviewing a withdrawal address, the network and the amount, and understanding applicable fees and risks before you confirm. A withdrawal stays pending until it is approved. Approving it does not by itself broadcast the transfer on a blockchain.

Blockchain transactions may be irreversible. We cannot guarantee transaction confirmation, asset values, network availability, or the security of third-party wallets and networks.

5. Third-party services and blockchain data

Our platform may interact with external wallets, blockchain networks, hosting, email, and other infrastructure providers. These third parties may process information under their own privacy policies and terms.

Public blockchain transactions may be permanently visible. We cannot remove or alter records maintained by independent blockchain networks.

6. Security and data retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. However, no online system can guarantee absolute security.

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet applicable legal obligations. Some identity and transaction records may have to be kept for longer where the law requires it.

7. Cookies and international transfers

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, to complete a sign-in step, and to remember your cookie choice. We do not set advertising or analytics cookies. If we add a non-essential cookie later, we will ask first where the law requires it. Details are in the Cookie Policy.

Information may be processed in other countries, subject to applicable legal safeguards. Our sites are hosted by a cloud provider, and email is sent through an email provider. Those providers may process information outside Australia.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on applicable law, users may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of their personal information, or object to or restrict certain processing.

Users may contact us to exercise applicable rights. Some information may need to be retained where required by law, including certain identity verification records.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our services, technical systems, or legal obligations. Updated versions will be published on our websites with a revised effective date.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
